April 17, 200620 yr I am curious as to the legalities should ones spouse die. If you have Thai children would it be possible to be granted a renewal in these circumstances. In my case i have a 1 year res. O visa which i renew annually. Can the visa be renewed and how easy is it or if not what are the alternatives for continuity please. I apologise in advance if this is a repeated topic as i cannot find a search target in recent posts. Thank you and much appreciated. marshbags

Thanks lopburi. I saw this on the immigration website but it only covers an initial visa application ( i think ) and i was wondering about the change of status due to the Thai spouse passing away and if anyone had actually gone through this senario. Also does the financial status change in anyway and if so are they sympathetic to the forced change in circumstances allowing the 400,000/other, or do they treat you as a new applicant. I read that it is difficult to change from marriage to retirement status on another thread and this prompted me to ask about this eventuality/possibility due to ill health. Thanks again marshbags Edited April 25, 200620 yr by marshbags
April 25, 200620 yr This covers annual extension of stay the same as support Thai wife or marriage. The is absolutely no problem changing from marriage to retirement. You would have to ask immigration about financial requirements.
