Changing Baht into Hong Kong Dollars

Featured Replies

Can anybody tell me if it's best to wait until I arrive in HK before changing my Baht into HKD or change before I leave Thailand?

Thanks.

It's up to the individual...

i found the best way to buy USD, then change that to HKD in HK...

seem to get a better exchange rate than with the straight change.

Depends of amount... You definitely can buy some HKD at Suwarnabhumi airport.

I recommend using Thai banks debit card to withdraw HKD if you have thai debit card. When you exit arrival passport control at HKIA, you will see a lot of ATM's on right hand side. I used HSBC many times, no problems.

I can tell you where to change:ChungkingMansion on 1stFloor there are only 3 changers,on GF - many.

So,on 1F Pacific Exchange will give you probably the best rate in town.Western Union in HK gives lousy rate

for TB,

and the worst rates ever you will get at HK Airport for any currency.

You will find BKKBank in HK in 2 locations, one of them very easy to find - in Central, near Central MTR
