I will go get my yearly retirement visa renewal in two months. I plan to buy one re entry permit. How long can I stay out of Thailand?

Let's move this to the Visas forum.

Your re-entry permit is valid until the end of your current extension, so once you get your new extension and new re-entry it will be good for about a year.

There is no limit on how long you can stay out of the country, so long as you return before the re-entry permit (and your current stay) expire.

rolleyes.gif Your exit re-entry permit is good for the length of your retirement visa/extension.

It ends the same day your extension ends,

So if you are approved for a retirement visa/extension for one year and then get an exit re-entry permit it's good until:

  • You use it
  • Or your extension expires and it's time to renew your retirement visa/extension again.
  • Also of course a single exit re-entry gets you a single exit re-entry.
  • And a multiple gets you multiple entries as above.

Why do you insist upon putting exit in front of re-entry

permit.

There is no such thing as a exit permit. Just a re-entry permit.

In simple words, the re-entry permit is valid for the number of entries shown on the re-entry permit until the expiration date shown on the re-entry permit.
