Bus Travel

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if you can get a direct bus to Phitsanulok from Pattaya?

If so, then does anyone know the timetable, length of travel time and bus station to leave from?

Thanks so much....

I believe some of the slower NCA buses bound for Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai (Mae Sai) stop in Phitsanulok. These buses depart from Rayong but make a stop at Pattaya.

So check at the Nakhon Chai Air terminal on Sukhumvit near Central Pattaya, or check for contact details at http://www.nca.co.th or their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/NakhonchaiairPages

If however this is a bus that stops absolutely everywhere then it's quite likely that it's much faster to take the usual Roong Ruang bus to Mor Chit terminal, then connect to a bus to Phitsanulok.

It is one of the best bus companies in the country though.

I regularly take a NCA bus from Pattaya Central (Suhkumvit) to Phitsanulok. Leaves at 1630 hrs each day and arrives Phitsanulok at 2330 - midnight, no stops along the way. Price is around 560 bhat.

Is it a silver or gold class bus?

I appreciate your replies but my intention was to get to Phitsanulok some time in the early evening so I could have a look around before continuing on to Chiang Mai. I thought it would be nice to break the journey up. Seems if the only direct bus leaves in the evening, my only option is to go via Bangkok.

Thanks

Actually it does seem like it's going to major hassle (and take a long time) just to have a quick look at Phitsanulok. I think I'll just fly up to Chiang Mai. Shame there is not an earlier direct bus.

If you're interested in a nice place in between Pattaya/Bangkok and Chiang Mai then I can think of a couple better ones than Phitsanulok. For example Lopburi or Sukhothai.
