Sir Burr
Really need a gadget to cut branches that are out of reach. Saw some municipal workers using a long pole with something on the end if it operated by a piece of string. Anybody know what it is and where to buy them? My last resort is going to be buying an electric carving knife and strapping it to a long pole.
sbk
I believe homepro carries them. I've also seen them at Makro in the gardening section.
Sir Burr
Thanks SBK. Any chance of asking your husband what it is called in Thai? PS. Translitaration in the Roman alphabet please as I don't read Thai. Edited April 20, 2006 by Sir Burr
Carmine6
I think you're talking about one of these. It has both a saw blade for bigger branches and a pruner blade for smaller branches. You hook the branch and the string pulls the pruner blade (black in the picture) and cuts the branch. No idea of the Thai word, but maybe you can print it out and go to the store. Crossy
They even have them in our Tesco (Rangsit), supply your own pole.
astral
Try showing the photo at a good hardware shop. You will probably have to buy the pole separately
sbk
I don't think you'll need to bother with the thai word, (he doesn't know the word in thai either, sorry, but "loei" is the word for saw) I found them in the gardening section at the Makro on the mainland. Wished I'd bought it now tho None available here!
