Female Pheu Thai politicians press for Abhisit's apology

A Pheu Thai MP shows a sarong she is prepared to give Abhisit if he does not apologise for mentioning "stupid woman".

More than 10 Pheu Thai female MPs led by Sunee Luaengvijit, Plengmanee Rengsomboonsuk and Kattiya Sawasdiphol pressed for an apology from Opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva.

THAI denies staff ignored passengers during landing incident

Court lands 12-yr jail term to Pracha Maleenont

The Supreme Court on Tuesday reached a verdict on the scandulous fire extinguisher purchase case.


Under the verdict, former deputy interior minister Pracha Maleenont is sentenced for a 12-year jail term, while Pol Maj-General Athilak Tanchookiat was sentenced for a 10-year jail term.

Former Bangkok governor Apirak Kosayodhin was cleared from the charges.

PHUKET: -- The body of a man first spotted floating in the sea near Koh Taphao Yai on Sunday was recovered yesterday when it reappeared 25km away off Koh Racha Yai.

Tourist police roadshow kicked off

BANGKOK: -- "Thailand Tourist Police Roadshow 2013" was kicked off on Tuesday, ahead of the high season. Mobile trucks to promote the roadshow in four major destinations throughout this month - Ayutthaya, Phuket, Pattaya and Hua Hin - were introduced.

The caravan comprises of four vehicles, equipped with a kitchen, a bed, a toilet and Wi-Fi internet.

Gen Roy Inkapairote, tourist police commander, said that tourists can seek help from police officers accompanying the caravan. The officers also stand ready to provide security to all tourists.

BANGKOK: -- Passengers who were injured in Sunday night's THAI Airways crash at Suvarnabhumi airport returned to the airport on Monday evening to complain to THAI president Sorajak Kasemsuvan about the way the ground staff handled the situation.

Phuket taxi cartel head arrested, denies extortion charges
