klubex99
I am off to Nepal tomorrow to do a weeks trekking in the Himilayas. I am flying direct to Kathmandu. I have a Kasikorn account with quite a lot of money in it, and thought i would use this as a spend source. But am unsure if the ATM card will be accepted in Nepal. I will take a few hundred USD cash just for the pocket, I know that is accepted there at a good rate. But don't like carrying too much cash money in a place until i have traveled it and know the score. Anyone been to Nepal that can answer this for me? Thanks in advance. easyride
Great advance preparation you've got. Ring Kasikorn Bank (02888 8888) and they can change your card for International use. Wether they can do it on such short notice or available in Nepal is another matter.
Gregory Morozov
I have been to Nepal a few times and I would strongly recommend not to rely on ATM withdrawals there. Kasikorn bank card does not need to be activated for international use AFAIK. Way back in Thai Farmers Bank days you needed activation.
ashtuladhar
If its a visa or master card then the atms at Nepal will accept it but sometimes it does give a problem so its safer to carry some cash as well.
