I have heared of agents that will take passport applications to Bangkok, lodge them for renewal, then pick-up and deliver back to you.

Is this right? and does anyone have any details of these agents.

Are we talking about Thai passports or farang?

Thai passports have to be applied for in person as the dept takes the photos

on their computer while you wait.

For British passports a personal visit is best as there is no need for a

guarantor to sign the photo. The embassy official sees that you match the

photo and that is sufficient.

Thanks for the advice Chaps.

Looks like I will have to take on the lousy task myself. (Just being lazy really) although it will take up best part of a full day to do it, and a return trip to pick up the passport when it’s ready.

You may well find that your embassy will send the passport to you by registered mail,

thus saving a second trip.

The British Embassy does and so do the Thai authorities.

Alternatively you can apply by post, although you will need a countersignatory to endorse one of the photos.

Go to: British Embassy Bangkok, Passport Services for further details.
