Thai Airways International dumb to paint over logo

Featured Replies

That concorde event is an intresting event that dates back many many years from again a "well known problem and short coming with the design" similar to the airbus issue.

The biggest problems in aviation is cost against saftey. As per my other post in another thread when the regulatory authority has to control the commercial business and saftey then there will be always a conflict of interest.

Take a look at the manchester airtours / ba event B727 engine failure and look at the deaths and why ppl died in a survivable accident. What has happend since that date?

Just a minor thing to show what passenger arent aware of in terms of cost and operation against saftey.

On the saftey demonstration/brief that crew give before you depart. "They say in the unlikely event on landing on water your life vest is situated......"

Well don't bank on it being there. You would think that compliance would be 100% installed or no go. Well thats not the case eccomonics and cost and control this itemin and in the M.E.L. you will find the answer on how many servicable life vests are required per cabin fit is required for dispach and it an't 100%

Btw big john was not refering to you when I mention the I not fly thai brigade. As an engineer I can see that all your posts are well researched and well written. Nice to here from good posts for a change.

This is a standard practice. I saw BEA (remember them) do it to Viscount which ran off the runway at Glasgow in 1968

If in fact this happened I suggest that this was a one off. BEA did not paint out their logo on the Vanguard that crashed at LHR. neither did they do it when a Trident crashed at Staines after take off from LHR. BA did not reach for a paint brush after the 777 crash at LHR. I do indeed remember BEA, I was employed as cabin staff for 3 years.

The first bum covering statement claimed this was Star Alliance policy and "in line with international standards" but was an obvious lie because Star Alliance has no policy to do this and anyway the Star Aliiance logo was left visible.

Sadly, it is part of the mindset that treats foreigners as if they are all idiots and commands them like Thai peasants to believe bare faced lies by corruption riddled puu yai. If they don't comply obsequiously, they will be told patronisingly that they don't understand Thailand or have wrong information.

Agree, although I think it's more a case of believing everyone is as stupid as they are.

Thai people have some wonderful qualities..... but great thinkers they are not.

When the next train derailment occurs can we now expect the paint brushes to come out?

Other airlines do it. Alitalia in February, TWA 1992

One shonky airline and another... shonky... not trustworthy

Sent from my GT-N7000B using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

let me suggest...to do a paint job to cover the logo or anywhere else .use a colour same as the aircraft body colour...then this will serve the purpose of whatever reason they are doing it...

Management in Thai are low grade coming out with a decision like that it could never be hidden that it was a Thai aircraft, what dummies should have just painted "Oops" under the name. Lets wait for the cause. I used to have a gold card member but I have decided not to fly Thai on international any more as if you book a flight they say is a special you do not get miles even when they were a lot more expensive than another good airline. 3 times I booked return from New Zealand over 40,000bhart never got any miles. I booked Qantas last time 17,000Bt less than Thai and got miles and very good flight. Will do again
