Where does "The Nation" find such terrible "journalists?" Does anyone know they point to this article? blink.pngunsure.pnghuh.png

Well, this is your opportunity to improve the quality of Journalism at "The Nation."

Apply for a job with the newspaper. Obviously with your qualifications, they'll be very glad to have you.

If there is any truth to this article whatsoever, then the real power brokers in this country are those who manufacture or supply viagra and other such drugs.

Funny you should mention drug companies. I've had 2 'relationships' with nurses and both told me how female reps from various drug companies usually have to sleep with doctors to close a deal. Apparently this is pretty standard behaviour too. Maybe the headline should be 'How sex is being used as a tool in Thai life' as indeed it is.

Must be interesting, especially for those selling Viagra / Sidagra, is it "try before you buy" - no extra charge.

Unless of course it's some Nepalese or Indian guy selling them near Patpongbiggrin.png

Sex is used as a tool when ever it can be most commonly in advertising. And if a woman can't get what she want simply by asking often they will flutter their eyelids or go further to get what they want.

Just look at Thaksin's sister-in-law if you want an example...

It only becomes an issue when the media start banging on about it otherwise no one would really pay any attention or take insult to it. Of course there will be sexploites somewhere on both sides its just petty mindedness and kids egos that talk about it , hardly a powerful tool for a propaganda war.

if Absit can back up his accusation she's a stupid bitch, which I suspect is a fair comment. then there is nothing wrong with that statement if he his just moaning because she's a woman then its not on.

In my opinion yes sex is being used as a political tool or weapon

Certainly the current government is intent on and indeed has been practicing unpleasant carnal knowledge activities on the people of Thailand since the P.T.P. came to power.whistling.gif

Thaksin's sister in law? Does he have one?

Did you mean his sister Yaowappa who is married to Somchai Wongsawat.

Fluttering of eyelids in her case won't work.

Sex has always been used as a weapon for any purpose in Thailand.

Even Marco Polo remarked on how promiscuous Thai women were 600 years ago.

Thats interesting . .....really it is.

Would you mind referencing the source of this little gem that so we can check it . Although seeing as marco polo was one of historys great bullshitters im not sure anything he had to say was worth listening to ( if he did make that claim) . He was the walter mitty of his day.

My experience of thai ladies tells me that they pretty similar to europeans. The prostitutes accept money for sex, some single women use sex as a commodity to hitch up with a wealthier man for secuirity. And many others have morals and principals, but seeing as many guys have nothing to offer a 25 year old other than money why are they suprised at attracting only the women who prioritze money?

Peoples views get twisted by spending to much time chasing those girls who are motivated by finances and not enough time looking for good normal thai women.

Second that. But also add that they are like in any other country for that matter. Not just Europeans. People behave the same way everywhere, they just look different.

Stupidity is always the rule when the Nation publishes an opinion. First of all the Nation is notoriously unreliable when it comes to reporting on what the opposition people do and say. Secondly they try to blame women and if possible those of the ruling parties for the absurd remark of Abhisit, a remark which was on purpose wrongly translated by the Nation. Ee-Ngo cannot be translated as Stupid Woman, it can only be translated as Stupid Bitch.

It is not this government who employs brothel owners as minister of commerce, but it was Abhisit when he proudly stepped in the footsteps of that other appointed dictator Prem. The democrats are not even removedly interested in the participation of women and poor people in politics, women are a tool the late ex leader of the Democrat party Sanan showed it already when he invited a journalist up to his room at a Ratchada hotel and than raped her. Sanan was protected by every so called old and new democrat and the journalist was forced to retract her statements because there were not witnesses. Luckily there are plenty of witnesses that knows how the words of bloody Abhisit must be translated.

Selective memory or equal stupidity?

Who and what was/is Pheu Thai's fix everything in 6 months ex Deputy PM.

Give Yingluck a break. When the former PM referred to her as a "bitch" (allowing for translation), this was a bad act. As far as I can see Ms Yingluck has done no great harm, certainly no more than her predecessor. Nothing she has done or suggested deserves such behavior. Abuse language degrades everyone it touches. Try and act like an adult.

I don't think Abhist has to prove any thing. Yingluck is doing a good job of proving it her self.

It only becomes an issue when the media start banging on about it otherwise no one would really pay any attention or take insult to it. Don't really understand why people did not mention even though Yingluck has not had sex with some one to get her job there were many voters who voted for her with sex in their mind. I doubt the PTP would have got as many votes as they did if Yaowappa had been the sister Thaksin chose to run for him. They would still have won the election.

I Think we should respect women , our mother is also a Women please repect .

I have always respected my mother, she was a good person.

Your mother I have never met.

Respect should be earned and not requested, nay demanded.

That is one of the fundamental problems of Thai society, respect is always demanded, even when it isn't deserved.

Change that, you may see some improvement, or at least some trying to earn respect instead of just expecting it.

Why the hatred at Abhisit when inferring something. He did not directly call Yingluck anything. The fact the inference was so quickly attributed to him talking about Yingluck maybe shows how's accurate others thought the remark immediately referred to her.

Exactly, and if Yingluck and her ice cream team of advisers are so concerned about her being seen as lacking intelligence, all she has to do is answer questions in Parliament and from journalists in detail.

Perhaps she could go on a talk show with Apisit to discuss the topics of the day and show us all how she's not only beautiful, but also smart!

Is anyone seriously still disputing Abhisit's low class behaviour? Apparently so.He professes to be a gentleman but his gutter language (In public) demonstrates otherwise.

No perceptive person would place Yingluck in the same league intellectually as Abhisit but she has qualities he lacks, and the Thai people still apparently take the view she is a better choice. She is the more talented politician

Is Abhisit right to challenge her and question why she appears relatively infrequently in parliament? Of course he is.

Lame attempt at invective aside, it's difficult to understand what your concern is.

What you descibe as "cherry picking" surely means in this forum context responding to one or more issues rather than deal with them all. That occurs all the time.

As it happens, my post was a direct and relevant response, and in line with the thread subject matter.Yours was entirely irrelevant - just a personal sideswipe since presumably you had nothing useful to say.

Nope, your post displays either an ignorance of the truth or a wanton promotion of lies.

I do have a fairly good idea which one it is, it's the why I'm having a bit of difficulty with.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Still content free blah.If you actually have a point to make let's hear it.
