cgphuket
When will he understand that the people don't want them anymore, that they are unsafe, rogue, armed and extortionate. A 10 or 20B baht bus system for Patong (same as Pattaya), regular pink buses between the beaches and the existing shuttle to and from the airport, plus some legal metered taxis with Bangkok rates. Period. Why is it no one mentions that the governors son is president of the Phuket tuk-tuk association (read as mafia that controls taxis, motor-taxi and car taxis". The irony of the head of the island getting a direct payoff from his son for the activities is beyond pathetic.

The son of the mayor of Patong (currently under investigation for vote buying) is head of some local Patong taxi group although not sure if it is for the whole of Patong. JulesMad
Let's have a battle (on the beach, no weapons) between the so-called legal tuk-tuk's and the so-called illegal tuk-tuk's... Ask entrance fee and allow betting on the outcome... It would be a very interesting event, and the result is.............nothing changes ....it is all in the mafia game....
