Web Hosting Services

Featured Replies

Im hoping to get a few sites up and running over the next month or so. Ive googled web hosting services and just got companies Ive never heard of or look a bit iffy. So heres a couple of questions to ponder....

Does anyone have any recommendations for hosting services?

Is it better to host inside or outside of Thailand?

If theres anything you can help with Id be grateful.

Thanks

If you do a search of the forums you will find several topics covering this already. I have been using iPowerWeb.com for several years now and very satisfied with them. About $7.95 per month for a 1 year package, $6.95/month on 24-month contract including free domain registration.

i cant recommend anything better than powweb. 20 gigs space, 400 gigs bandwidth. been using their services for 2 years now. the other host i use for some of my clients is bluehost. right now powweb is having a buy one year, one year free hosting promotion. 7.77 per month with one year domain free.

its better to have hosting done at one of the big guys. simply cause its a lot cheaper and have a lot more going when it comes to customer support and that extra value services such as installation of various scripts etc for u using installed softwares on their servers. eg. fantastico. thai servers are expensive. only time you would go for a thai server is if you are cautious of the thai authorities banning foreign ips (very unlikely unless u plan to run a porn site)

i am an affiliate of both bluehost and powweb. so in case u decide to go with any one of them, id be happy to split my affiliate earnings with you. provided you click on a banner that i provide to u before you sign up with them. (might as you earn something rather than just paying them the full amount). you might take my recommendations as biased since i am an affiliate but do your research and see what suits you best. ipowerweb that thwais recommends is also good. and so is lunarpages and hostgator, godaddy etc etc.

First better to host outside thailand as long as you use a DB, have some critical datas (can be accounting, clients address or adult photos in case of xxx website). Also you will have something easier to get from outside thiland.

I can advice wbpro.com, the starting package is $6/month if you buy one year. Mostly the customers queries are made within 6 hours.

Also, I canadvice to take a big look, because there is thousands of companies who do that business, so better to look before to choose.

I forgot to add that this will be a site for selling my product. I'm not sure if this makes any difference to the ipowerweb route as it seems to offer e-commerce as part of its package.Let me know if Im wrong on that one, if so does anyone know what the cost of the ecommerce package?

My site at iPowerweb is an e-commerce site and I have the annual subscription. They have a store front as part of the package but don't use it myself. I sell specialized scientific software I developed and I use Regsoft as my registration and credit card service. If you are considering setting up a Merchant account that can get expensive unless you sell a lot. That's why I went to Regsoft for handling all that. However they only deal with soft services, that is downloadable like software, e-books etc and not hardware (physical delivery).
