nami Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Is there any update on the status of this? I believe it will be successfully legalized and taken out of the narcotic list however, do you think it will be taxed? (One should not forgot the only reason why it's currently illegal is because it was taking away tax profits from opium) What about the possibility of exporting it to other countries? I see a good chance of making good business with it.
seajae Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 we can only hope, dont know about making money off it though but I am interested as I suffer constant pain. Weaned myself off morphine derivitives a few years ago and now only use a mild pain relief, a cup of kratom tea once in a while can give you a good pain free day, putting on a happy face all the time gets hard but at least in here I can let it down occasionally.
ggold Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I see a good chance of making good business with it. Probably a really bad idea.
nami Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 Can you elaborate why would it be a bad idea? Have you see how popular has become in Europe and in the USA, where it is completely legal in most countries? People are paying very expensive prices for it and are facing the trouble of growing their own trees (seeds become ungrowable after some 3-4 days). I already located online shops based in places like Indonesia, and I would guess they are doing quite well. This on the business side. On the legal side, well that's why I am waiting for them to take it off the narcotic controlled substances first ;-) On the human side, just imagine how many farmers could benefit with this crop value when selling to international markets as opposed to growing rice or other low income crop.

metisdead Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 As it looks like kratom has not been removed from the banned narcotic list yet as per this topic: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/666624-pongsapat-meets-with-chula-ratchamontri-on-lifting-kratom-from-banned-narcotic-list/ Closed
