I am helping a friend get set up at a local school here that has never hired a foreigner before. In the interest of my friend not showing up at the Thai Embassy with a missing document, I've been looking for a list of the requirements for a Non-B for teachers in Thai that I can give to the school admin. So far everything I find is only in English, even at the various regional thaiembassy.org websites (click "TH", the page is generally either empty, or in English).

It's just a small little village school, and again, I'm nervous that they will omit something and my friend will have to make another run in a couple months. Happend to me at another school.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Problems in the making, there is always some document missing.

School has to provide:

Form of employment certification.

Copy of contract ( Minimum 16 hours a month) for teaching)

Copy of school registration

Copy of directors I.D. signed

Copy of work schedule

Map of location

Teachers license or Waiver

Copies of diplomas/degrees

Letter to Consulate asking for Non B visa, why he is needed to teach..

Work Pemit or receipt for such (3,100 Baht)

(This week a poster reports that Vientiane now also wants a letter from the head of the Labor Office to say that Work Permit is in the works.) Something new..

Now I am sure that I have probably forgotten something here, will let other posters add to this.

For teaching a work permit application or work permit is not required.

You are also wrong on the approval letter it does not say it has signed by anybody.

Suggest you read info on Vientiane website: http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/vientiane/en/consular/consular_check/

The police certificate is not required according to reports.

^This. That's been my experience as well. Hoping I can spare my friend the hassle, but I'm not optimistic. One can only do one's best though.
