Yes, in order to get to the work permit. But the medical cert is VERY easy to get here in Thailand. Around 200 Baht and 5 minutes later at most Thai clinics you are on your way.

tnx for the reply but need to elaborate more..

u mean i only have to pay that amount in order to get a medical certificate or do i still need to undergo medical examnations in getting a working/residency visa? even without medical exams, paying that 200 baht will lead me in getting med cert?

In effect yes. The examine is extremely minimal, sometimes non-existant. Fill out a form, take your blood pressure, ask you how do you feel, and that's about it.

Unless you have some special skills, and qualifications to back them up, you are unlikely

to have much success in finding employment in Thailand.

Any potential employer must demonstrate that they cannot fill the post from the Thai work force,

before the Labour Dept will issue a Work Permit for a foreigner.

are they going to get intensive blood examinations? lyk for example if u hav blood infections and will it be a hindrance in getting working visa? coz in most cases wen one is applying for an employment abroad, in order to enter their country, u must undergo intensive physical medical exams but in thailand no more? just blood pressure and thats it?

Tywais has pretty much summed it up for you!

Don't expect too much for 200 Baht.

Your employer may well insist on a much more complete physical which would include full blood tests and x-ray type exam.
