Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hi again,

yes I understand that 12month is not available on a Tourist Visa, however 4 entries would almost be 12months in thailand. So going back to my previous post about applying for another tourist visa, is it possible to get a 4 entry visa when I had one for 2 entrys but now is expired from penang? or is it better to go home to the UK and get a 4 entry? Like I said before, i dont want to waste money by going penang and they say, no its not possible to have one or something like that....

andy

Problem is Andy that even if you were given a 4 entry tourist visa you would only be able to get a maximum of something approaching 9 months ................reason being is that a 2 , 3 or 4 entry tourist visa only has a 6 month validity from date of issue to use all the entries on it. Therefore unless you intend to do a side trip to another country for a holiday anymore than a 3 entry is a waste of money.

A double or triple may be available in Penang................help if you use an agent down there to submit your app to the Consulate.

So how much would this cost, can you seperate the cost from the agent and tourist visa for me so I can get a good idea on individual costs....

Thanks

Andy

Agent will cost you about 200 baht...................to be honest it aint worth treking out to the Consulate by the time you pay the taxi/bus fare there and back twice you are no better off.

Also the agents deal with the Consulate day in day out so not only can they "smooth" your app but will also tell you exactly what is available.

A double is a virtual cert , a triple possible......depending on how they feel on the day.

Just my humble input.

I used to get double entry tourist visa from Penang. Never had any problem.

The first use of the visa gives you 2 months then go to any immigration office for 1 month extension -1900bt.

This gives you total of 3 months. Then you have to do a quick border jump, Hat Yai – Paddang Bassar to start your second entry.

Same again after 2 months go to immigration for 1 month extension.

You now have had a total of six months before having to go to Penang again for another double entry tourist visa.

As mentioned earlier use an agent.

As said earlier, why go for a double at the Penang consulate when you can get a triple. Me and all my friends always get this kind of visa, never any problems at all.

Using an agent I've got triples from Penang before as well, no problem. Utilise your third visa just before the end of your 6 months, gives you almost 9 months then.
