What Songs Were Playing ?

It's my 12th wedding anniversary and I was reminiscing back to when I met my wife.

I remember the song by Ronan Keating was playing, so has become a favourite. Actually I'm sick of it now as heard it so often.

Also this old one by Palmy was popular

It quite amazing that we're still together as, according to some, we didn't have much chance, with her poor background and my alcohol/drug addictions but we survived through everything and are happy together still.

Also got me thinking what was playing when I first came here.

Surprisingly, was a band from Glasgow that I heard many times every day and kinda sums up my life at the time - early Koh Pa Ngan beach parties before the masses came.

What songs do you remember about events in Thailand?

Carabao's, 'Made in Thailand' circa 1984/5?. Loved it then, and still love it today.

1974. 'Live and Let Die'. It was on the juke box in the coffee shop of the New World Hotel in Petchburi Road. I must have played it a hundred times. I would sit on the floor, back leaning up against the jukebox with my head resting in between the speakers sucking on a bottle of Singh.

Chess 'One Night In Bangkok' - The Thai Govt Banned it if I remember correctly but it didn't stop the bars from playing it.

The Carpenters

Band On The Run Album

Eagles

Michael Jackson was huge in the early to mid eighties in the LOS. All the best bars played him continuously. But we really don't want to go there.

Yeah Carabao are great - one of the songs I heard years ago and still love is Lung Kee Mao

I remember Michael Jackson coming here as I was working at the hotel he stayed in - Shangri La. What a fuss he made there!
