Mighty Mouse
British humour gets my vote. I still crack up watching the Fawlty Towers re-runs. Mr Bean, Some mothers do have 'em, 'Allo 'Allo, Hancocks half hour...just to name a few. Unfortunately, all of them are re-runs.
suegha
Tough one this, all those already mentioned are up there! The Office Father Ted Fall and rise... However, so many more could be included. One thing I can say, I am not a fan of American comedy although a few are mildly amusing...
Simmo
Ok .. some non-UK shows for some balance (although Young Ones has to be my all time fave comedy). Seinfield ( George Costanza is the best neurotic comic character ever). Frontline (Australian newsroom mockumentary series). Sopranos (not a comedy but a lot of black dry humor & witty dialogue). SamuiRes
Can't disagree with any of the above, but the one currently showing that cracks me up is "Coupling". Blackadder is hard to beat - especially the last series in the First World War.
Ducati
As a young lad....I have fond memories of: 1. Bless This House 2. Citizen Smith 3. It 'aint Half Hot Mum...tying for 3rd place with On The Buses Classics. Bring a smile to my face everytime. I can remember the theme tunes clearly. I can watch reruns over and over again...although I think these 4 are so old, TV bosses have forgotten about them.

bendix
Such a tough question. Too many answers to simplify, so . . . Best contemporary UK shows: Royle Family, The Office, Best of last 20 years: Only Fools and Horses Best from my childhood: Dads Army, On the Buses, Love thy Neighbour Best US comedy: Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Taxi Looking through this list, it occurs to me that these are all sad shows . .the contexts are all kinda depressing. And that's what makes them funny. Oh oh oh . my all time favourite. Laurel and Hardy.

Ulysses G.
I'll take The Three Stooges anyday. I like British and American comedy equally, but British shows are hard to find around here. I've been watching a lot of Frazier - the spin off from Cheers - which is a lot better than I had realized.
wolf5370
Love: - The Phil Silvers Show (Amy one). Brilliant! - Porridge (ten times better than Open all hours IMO) - Laurel and Hardy - still funny now!!! - My Hero (young priest from Father Ted plays a thick super hero) - Bewitched (Classic and I love it) - The young ones - Taxi - Spitting Image (If only they brought that back) Use to find 'I dream of Genie' funny too - but infuriating that JR always went looking for love outside when he had the gorgious babe homouring his every whim! donna
M*a*s*h - Klinger is a classic Kath and Kim - "oh yeah....and you're all a pack of chunts" is my fave all time line. David Duke
I have found that British humor doesn't cross over well to USA viewers. The 3 stooges rock there Buh' Wheat
game4shame
1. bottom/young ones (I'll count them as one!! Ade Ed & Rik Mayall are comedy heroes IMO ) 2. the office 3. ali g would count as 3 full series favourite's.... ....but - although the majority of the series is pretty lame - the Craig David sketch in Bo Selecta absolutely destroys me!!!
