Open a savings account in your home country. Mail

Them an ATM card. Budget for the extra foreign ATM fee and viola!

Western union seems the logical choice if no one has bank accounts, they can collect from Post Offices.

Moneygram....or just send it cash in an envelope..

if they are house bound (or cannot get to an ATM), send them money by post

if they can get to an ATM (and can see), send them a debit card by post

if they can get to a bank (and can see, hear and talk), tell them to open a bank account

there is no reason to give any money to Western Union

Money gram is expensive. And for small amounts like that, so is a bank transfer.

Depending where you are, I would actually agree with the savings account with debit card idea. Just choose the savings account carefully to keep down the charges in your home country for foreign use of the cards.

Open bankaccount in Thailand.....Lao have 30 day border entry....a lao.walks pick up the money and goes back.

to difficilt???

repeat 1 AND open a BCLA account at the borderpostin lao.....send someone to deposit on lao bank

Thai-Lao account to account is a nightmare.

The lao site needs to know to much before a thai bank can send.

so they don';'t

good luck
