Governance System and everyday experience of Farung in Thailand

Featured Replies

I suspect, that many of us foreigners living here in Thailand, sometimes, have an idea that we are treated not as much as we would have liked to .

Moreover, it seems to me that even Thai legal system does not fully reflect the realities of today's day (the processes of globalization and internationalization) and "sharpened " mostly for the Thais.

In this forum, I would like to explore the possibility of conducting a proper research on this topic, results of which could form the basis for recommendations for policymakers with aim to change existing practices.

Please share your experience, in particular, I would like to know the cases of negative attitudes towards foreigners, some examples of prejudice , some negative practices etc.

It has nothing to do with a scam that could be found in any other country as well as some unsuccessful love stories wub.png and failures or incidents generated by foreigners' own stupidity sad.png .

Waiting for your valuable input, thanks!wai.gif

So in not so many words, you are asking if the THais are racist and xenophobic ?

The answer is YES ! whistling.gif

PS. It is not farung but falong !cheesy.gif

I always thought it was felang, anyway, to answer your question, generally in my experience, most thais treat us ALIENS as if we didnt exist, they tolerate our presence and little more.

Generally we are ignored and will always be right down the ladder in terms of priority or consideration, unless of course you are paying them to be otherwise.

No problems....

And scam? They scam Thais and Farangs equal. There millions of stories of scammed Thais.

Scammer are the least racist people....they try to service everyone.

I've got to be honest asedado ... welcome back.

While some of us get blind sometimes ... that does not mean that we can see.

To the wise folk here who follow this post ... think twice.

That said ... I know where my coat is ... rolleyes.gif

Question ?...are you in a position to make recommedations to the policymakers due to your relationships within the Thai legal system

Question ?..is this a home work project

Question ? Are you another bloody do gooder farang in Thailand who has the preception you should have rights in Thailand and wishes to burn their bra in protest out side the Thai supreme court..

Thailands legal system, as with most legal systems is best money can buy...whistling.gif

I love it when a FARANG tries to tell how a Thai word should look in English. The fact that Thai does not translate direct evades them. Another case of FARANG (might as well spell it like is is said in real life) who tries to make his opion a fact and shove it down our throats.
