What is the Value of a PM's Promise ?

Someone please correct me if I have misinterpreted something.

Did not our well traveled PM make a promise last year , when looking for a massive allotment of funds, stating something like a promise of "No Floods next year"

Quote from todays English Language Newspaper.

" As of Oct 13, parts of 25 provinces remain flooded, bringing the number of affected households to 337,190 and causing 42 fatalities "

Does anyone have a copy of that 'promise' article,,,,,, I would like to re-read the fine print.

Reminds me of the saying. How do you know when a politician is lying? Their lips are moving. Same applies everywhere.

Does anybody ever seriously believe the promises or sworn statements made by any politician, of any party in any country?

I've 'been on a promise' from a many a Lassie ... some were fulfilled, some partially, some not at all.

And, if I could be honest, in the brutality of the morning light ... some declined ... ... two way street on that one!

I always found Bill Clinton's definition of 'sexual relations' interesting - apparently if it didnt involve the missionary position in Hilary's bed, it was AOK. The mind boggles.
