Gentlemen, could you confirm if the last 90 days notification on an expiring Non Imm O visa lapses or is carried over to the renewal?

The reason I ask is I must renew my first year's Non Imm O in Nov but this month have an overdue notification 'in the post' so am not sure yet I'll have an original receipt available to carry forward.

Thanks.

What exactly have you got in the passport. A multi entry NON IM "O" never requires 90 day reports and a single entry "O" requires the holder to leave on or before 90 days.

Do you have an extension of stay ?

I suspect you have an extension of stay since you have been making 90 day reports which is not a visa. Getting a new extension of stay does not change when your next 90 day report is due.

Thanks ubonjoe/thai expat - so my extensions of stay are off the single visa and after 3 extensions I can apply for residency?

Have you come across any instances where 90 day reporters have not had their last original notification? I always keep mine inside my passport but have had a separate non-delivery from CW before so have a similar concern it could happen with a 90 day receipt as well.

Ok

Your "visa " has expired long ago.

An extension of stay does not come in single or multiple entry flavors! You have a "permission to stay" for 12 months. If a journey outside Thailand is required during this time a re-entry permit either single or multiple is required

The extension of stay requires that you make an "address" report every 90 days you stay in Thailand . If you fail to make the report on time a fine of 2000-5000 is payable.

Thanks Thai Expat :) Forgive my ignorance as that was my 1st visa and I haven't ventured back out yet :). Are extensions of stay continuous as long as you meet the criteria, would I only need a new visa when leaving Thailand without a re-entry permit? Thanks.

Just forget your visa it means nothing now.

Unless you are working you will not be eligible for residency.

Not sure they will check for the 90 day report slip when you do your extension. If they do and you don't have proof you mailed it in you could be fined 2000 baht unless they can check that they did get it.

Thank you ubonjoe. I went to CW today and it's in the system they received my 90 days notification. The wife may be leaving salaried employment next year to open a small shoe shop where we will leave and I was going to be very strict to avoid being classified as working (using 'energy or knowledge' per working of alien act), particularly household chores that overlap with the shop floor - but I may explore a WP for residency at a later date but at the moment setting up a registered company with multiple local staff on social security for a venture that doesn't exist doesn't fit yet :)

Thats correct leaving Thailand whilst on an extension of stay invalidates that extension.

To keep an extension alive requires a re-entry permit.

Forget about "visas" you do not have one !smile.png
