Might get better response if you include a location and if you have extended your stay or had any contact with immigration recently. Police are supposed to know who lives within there areas of responsibility so it may be they are working today.

i live near phetchabun on a land of my ex girlfriend. there is no address here so i give immigration the address of the parents home of my ex girlfriend. i m on a visa tourist and just got 2 months more. i just stay here 6 months a year and will leave in 1 months. i don t speak really thai but it looks like they were looking for people living the area. they just wrote my name in a book they have with them.

Several years ago I had to go to the local police station with a photo, fill out a form and get my finger prints taken. They said it was a new rule that came from head office here..

It would not be normal or possible for immigration to check up on all tourists
