I can't remember the name, but I have always been a little partial to the one that has this happy hour special every day:

That would be a happy hour indeed.

Never seen such a deal.

Must be great for repeat business...

Or a happy 5 minutes, depending on your, er, staying power!

;-)

clap2.gif Yeah, that would be it. The heck with food, I ate once when I was a kid.

Crikey, must not forget Cheap Charlie's - too trendy these days but still a must every now and again - Le Petit Bistrot, previously mentioned, is nearby as is a number of great little resto's which you can sit outside of - ideal for me - one of the best soi's for eating and drinking in all of Bangkok.

Sukhumvit Rd ... Ha ha ha!
That's a hell of a looooong road! I've been along some of it from BK down to Rayong, dunno how far it goes beyond there, or come to that, how much further it goes from Bk in the other direction!

It goes to Pnom Penh. It's the longest road in the world - good quiz question.

I like Beer Garden on Suk. Soi 7. To the uninitiated it don't look like much, but I've been going there for over 30 years and so have a lot of nostalgia for the place and it reminds me of a different era in BKK.

That list is smaller than an Asian man's penis

The voice of experience?

Yes, you can guesstimate by how far from the urinal one stands

I second that vote. Where else are you gonna find ex-Korean war hookers?

I've only been in that area a few times, but really enjoyed the Sio 8 bar, actually in Soi 8. Owned by a NZ ex rugby player, charming guy with some good stories. Great food, drink and staff. Good prices and no bar girls.

I like breakfast at The Old Dutch (cnr Cowboy &23) or even the 99 baht buffet at Regency Ct Hotel soi 22 or even Foodland in Soi 16.

Lunch good at New Cowboy Bar Soi 22 or the huge servings at The Londoner in 23.

Dinner enjoyable at Bei Otto in Soi 20 or for some good blotting paper, Little Italy on 23 (cnr Sukhumvit).

When I'm anaebriated I enjoy standing inside the Fish n Chip shop in 23 and doing deep breathing exercises... that way i get the cholesterol into my lungs as well as my guts after i've eaten there.

And surprisingly I reckon the best Cappucino along Sukhumvit is at the McCafe in Maccas near Soi 19 out front of Robinsons.

They are all overpriced but I like the Robin Hood, as long as you avoid the food, Londoner has all the atmosphere of a car park, Black Swan is OK but small with overpriced food.

True, all very pricey. Had a couple of meals at the Black Swan last week; they were decent enough. With the demise of the Green Vespa, there is no more pub grub to be found in Cambodia.

Damn....the Vespa had the best prawn gumbo ever....

I like the Beer Garden Soi 7, depends on what you want to do when you get there. Food not bad, drinks cheap.

Great place for breakfast... and whatever takes your fancy.
