It's always possible to take the matter to the local station. I'd only recommend it if you are 100% sure you're in the right and can prove it. Even then, is it worth the hassle? It might be easier to think of some roads as personal autobahns, choosing your own speed limit as long as you're prepared to pay the special toll. Frustrating.

I kind of find it amusing.

Seeing the 'superior' and more 'intelligent' farangs get taken so easily by uneducated peasants with farm dirt still under their fingernails is kind of funny.

This is the issue. "Farangs" in general don't think we are superior and or more intelligent. Like yourself people's assumptions are way off the mark. Assumption is the mother of all stuff ups!! And the whole farm peasant or third world country garbage is a joke! Have a look on the roads for instance! Every car you see is late model rarely see older models etc in no way is this a economic gauge but just pointing it out! And u can answer your own question. Would you find it amusing if it was done to you and ppl like yourself then pointed it out and stated it was amusing!!'

who told you that? my, you must have grown up with a real complex!!

let me follow this.

you broke the law

cop called you on it

you offer a bribe

he says no, writes up a ticket

you offer more

he says no, he continues writing

you offer even more

he accepts.

it looks like you were the one initiating the corruption. i have gotten tickets a few times and then just paid them. i never offer bribes. either they ticket me or let me go (50/50 in my time driving here)

I've been stopped over a dozen times by police at different road blocks and not once have I ever been asked for a bribe or been given a ticket for anything. They ask to see my driving license, practice their English on me (even though I am talking with them in Thai) and then shake my hand and off I go. I'm not saying there are no bad police but from my own personal experience of being stopped quite a few times I've yet to see it myself.

I think I the difference is OP that every time I've been stopped I was doing good nothing illegal like you were, and when you were stopped for an illegal moneveur you resorted to corruption yourself and bribed the cop straight away. And then you came online to a notorious Thai hating forum to complain that you were stopped for dangerous driving and that you paid the cop off instead of getting a full fine.

Not quite get the reaction you were hoping for from all the haters, huh?

The evil? On this mornings news was the usual

parade and pointing at the criminals that had been caught. Not a single farang in sight!! Is obvious what's been poisoned here its in ya head We all aren't scary monsters we all nice happy people from happy land
