Op had asked the question before, and it was answered. I am in Chiangrai, there is quite a choice of friends, mainly online.

At 23 it really should not be a problem.

Go online, there are people all around that province, sometimes I even meet up in Phayao.

Some people looking for drugs, money, wasting time etc. but generally my experiences have

been good even those that didn't go further than having a coffee.

I really don't want to sound off-putting, but if you're a 23 year old Asian who's been in Chiang Rai for five months and you still haven't found any "gay" friends you're doing something wrong (apart from asking in the wrong place, as most here are farangs who are at least twice your age - some, three times!).

Wherever you are in Thailand as long as you've made some friends some of them are bound to be gay. If you haven't or they're not then maybe you're doing something wrong or you're trying too hard. Just relax, make friends, and let nature take its course - worry about whether they're gay or not later. As has been discussed here before, gay Thais generally don't just stick to a "gay" crowd, particularly those of your age, and they don't want to stick to a gay crowd - even when my partner goes for the very occasional "gay" night out, or just lunch at Shabushi, there's usually the occasional lesbian or lesbian couple, or some straight guys and their wives/girlfriends, or a straight girl or two.
