Got a virus on my flashdrive . It's called abudhabisport3HD.vbs . It keeps on making shortcuts and deleting files . How can I get rid of this if possible . I'm not that great with computers so any help in basic terms would be appreciated . Thankyou .

Got rid of the virus yet? I know this virus and it's not the filename you've mentioned.

The virus is on your PC by the way and it's not deleting your folders but just hiding them.

1st, delete the virus from your PC, you need to go to control panel and make the hidden and system files visible (after this step you will see your folders on your USB drive).

Now open a task manager, find the jusched.exe in the running tasks, right click on it and select "go to file location". If it takes you to Java folder, then it's not the virus I was thinking, if it takes you to a folder with name like a random set of characters, go back to the task manager right click on the above mentioned file and kill the process, then go back to the folder where the file is located and delete the file, or go one level up and delete a whole folder (the one that is a random set of characters). After that format your USB drive if there's nothing important on it, don't click on any shortcuts because they will launch the virus again - that's how you got it in the first place. If there's anything you need on that USB drive, Google for shortcut remover program and use it, it will unhide your folders and possibly remove shortcuts (sometimes it works and sometimes not). You can also delete the shortcuts manually and don't forget to remove the folder that is 6 or 8 digits name (you'd notice it's not one of your folders) - copies of the virus are hiding in there.

The last step is to go back to control panel and hide the system and hidden folders (reverse of a 1st step).

Which version of Windows are you running? Is it XP, Vista, 7 or 8? In the control panel you need to click on Folder Options and find there setting to show hidden files and folders, also make sure you uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" option. Basically you need to make all of the hidden files visible.

In any case you can start a task manager with a right click of a mouse anywhere on an empty place on a taskbar, or hit a CTRL+ALT+DEL and choose a task manager.
