53 Year Old French man arrested and accussed of sex with a 13 year old girl. :o

A security guard working at the Gowgarat Condominium in Central Pattaya placed a call to Police late on Sunday Night after he spotted a resident entering the complex with a young girl which he though required further investigation by Police. Police Lieutenant Colonel Tawatshai from Pattaya Police Station arrived and was led to room number 517/478, occupied by Mr. Michel Maurice aged 53 from France. Inside the room was a 13 year old girl lying on the bed in a state of partial undress. Mr. Maurice was detained while Police spoke with the young girl who claimed this was her third time at the room and Mr. Maurice would collect her from Pattaya Beach on each occasion and take her back to his room where he would engage in sexual intercourse with the girl. Mr. Maurice was arrested and taken back to the stationhouse where he was charged with having sex with a minor. He declined to comment on the charges brought against him and the case is now in the hands of the Pattaya Provincial Court who will decide his fate.

Please name the source of that article.

It is very poorly written, has spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors.

It's make me wonder just how accurate the news is.

Just deporting him is not the answer. He needs sorting out so he doesn't re offend in france as well.

One also wonders who had the girl on the streets in the first place. I hope that the MIB look into this in some depth.

Makes me sick. And to think that a guy in another thread couldn't understand why most of us had a problem with him. One of the chief attractions to his former girlfriend was the fact that she was 19 and looked like she was 13. He just couldn't understand our concerns. Not that she looked young, but because he thought she was HOT, because she looked 13, that was the problem. Whew!!!!

Calling him an imbecile is an insult to idiots and stupid people.

This ##**&^$* evil *%^$#@! new exactly what he was doing.

Deport him to his home country under escort and sentence the *%^$#@! to the Guillotine and chop him up a bit at a time starting with the stuff between his legs, leaving him to have soak in salt water as it proceeds.

13 is the age of lots of our own children and they could easily become a victim to these predators.

Talk about loosing your temper and getting done for murder,

His nationality is one of the many attached to these evil BASTARDS

I am constantly disturbd how many people give them creditability by turning the other cheek and treating them as acceptable human beings.

Blaming it on parents who don,t care is the same thing by the way.

Full marks here to the security guard, it`s good to know that local people are turning these perverts in.

I hope that the girl`s parents or guardian if she had such will be investigated by the BIB and prosecuted if necessary.

As for the child lets hope that she will be well looked after and can put this behind her and once again live life as a child should.

If he had taken her home 3 times, how many others had too?

I hope she gets some help to improve her life now, and that the people who put her out there get it just as bad as the french bloke.

Exactly what I was thinking.....13 years of age... :o where are the parents/guardian(s)?

Obviously she knew what she was doing; wonder where/how she learned to go with an adult (Farang in this case) on such an age?

There is an organisation somewhere in Pattaya-area who take care of (ex)-'working'-girls; maybe they can help; it's run by Farang Ladies but I don't know the name of that org.

Someone who knows?

This is the dark side of Thailand and especially Pattaya.

Some years ago I used to know a cop who worked for a child protection unit in a large town in Essex. He told me that the general public has absolutely no conception of how widespread child abuse is, and the number of cases that get referred to them daily is truly astonishing. A majority of these cases will involve the abuse of children by parents, relatives and family friends, and this fact often makes it extremely hard to make a successful prosecution, as often other family members are in denial and refuse to give evidence or co-operate. For obvious reasons, these cases rarely, if ever get reported.

Every society has problems with child abuse, but in recent years, most western democracies have tried to get to grips with the problem, and these days, there is a much greater acknowledgement and follow up on these crimes, and there is a much higher understanding amongst the general public that peadophilia is an abhorrent and vile crime that can cause life long psychological damage to the victims.

In the developing world, Thailand included, this awareness is at a much lower level of understanding and acceptance. Sure the government and police treat high profile cases with much fanfare and harsh sentences – especially where foreigners are involved, but for the most part this is just paying lip service to a massive problem.

Throughout Thailand, there is widespread abuse of children – most typically fathers or uncles abusing under age daughters or nieces. It is so endemic that many Thais (especially in rural communities), still regard it as ‘normal’ behavior and see little wrong with it, and refuse to accept that it does long term damage to the victims.

In Pattaya there are hundreds of destitute, homeless families, who live on the streets and in slums, Often, their only way to put food on the table is to prostitute their children. They see little wrong with this, and don’t differentiate between child and adult sex workers.

Peadophiles, like the Frenchman just arrested, are aware of this ready ‘supply’ of children and are attracted to places like Pattaya for that reason.

It wouldn’t be that difficult to remove the supply – all these kids live in the slum areas, and are controlled by known gangs. But of course it won’t happen because of certain vested interests.

There are charities that rescue a few of these children and put them in homes and schools, but as with all charities in Thailand, funds are very limited.

So until we see some real action by the authorities, I’m afraid we will continue to read regular reports of foreigners being arrested on paedophile charges – which, I suspect is just the tip of the iceberg.

good post mobi

i've been to pattaya many times and maybe i'm a bit slow or just lucky that i have not seen the underage elements at work. if i did see this i do not know how i would react as i have two young daughters of my own.

from my wife i was on the understanding in the rural areas underage abuse goes on and is accepted to a certain extent as long as it does not affect your own immediate family. [ very sad ]

if the bib know what is going on and do not act upon the situation then in my eyes i'm afraid they are as guilty as the perpatrators.

it's an unfortunate situation but in highly populated communities, surely it would not take much of an effort by honest police to clean this up and eradicate.

Another problem that I found last time i was there was some one was selling kiddy porn on the street by beach road and a well known coffee shop. if this kind of thing is allowed to be done in broad daylight how can they attempt to stop what goes on at night

The trouble is would you know it if you saw it?

I recall an incident on Soi Diana Inn one evening where two guys attacked a man walking with a young girl. Turned out that the young girl was his step daughter and these two thugs were carted off to the nick and deported.

Its a tough call.

Vigilance from expats, locals, such as this noble security guard who deserves a medal in my eyes, and tourists to Pattaya can only help.

If you see something iffy then tell the MIB. If you are mistaken at least they can handle it. If you are not mistaken and can help rid society from one of these vile people then your vigilance has paid off.

Excellent advice, Prof fart.

Vigilance without vigilanteeism.

And moby, well said. I think that about covers all that really needs to be said about this particular topic.
