Swedish Massage in Thailand?

Featured Replies

Swedish massage is basically someone rubbing your back.

Relaxing but nothing on any Asian massage.

Suitable for old people who are not supple.

Also would like to find BALINESE massage.

Probably the most memorable massage in my life was in Bali but there were other environmental factors that contributed to that which may have been important than the technique.

The previous post about Swedish massage is just biased misinformation.

Doing a little research I am finding that the term Swedish massage is mostly used in English speaking countries, the Netherlands, and Hungary. It is also known as CLASSIC massage in most of the world. I am seeing some adverts in Thailand for therapeutic massage. I am wondering if that is what Swedish is more typically called in Thailand. I'm asking as I really don't know.

In the USA, Swedish is by far the most popular style of massage, and it is for all ages.

It is also popular with athletes of all levels.

To seek Swedish massage is not a dig on Thai massage. Thailand has a wonderful massage tradition but it simply is not to everyone's preference.
