Dim Sum At Plaza 89 Moved?

Featured Replies

Tried to go to the dim sum restaurant at Plaza 89, Nong Hoi and it was closed. All furniture gone etc. Anybody any idea if they have moved to another location or finished trading? Thanks.

Can't help you as to their fate but the corner site they occupied has been the kiss of death for every restaurant that has tried it in the last 5 years.

Not the widest selection but the Dim Sum @ M.K. Restaurants is quite good although I have been trying for the past 7 years to get them to supply Hoisin Sauce.

We've filled in the "comment slips" asked the staff (and got blank looks) so now we bring our own....that evokes "Strange Looks" from the staff.

very true and sad for some of the shops.

It's funny how that works. There are a number of areas around Chiang Mai that have that same problem. One that comes to mind is the road running alongside the river in Faham. Almost every business (bar, cafe, restaurant, etc.) that has opened over the last 6-7 years on the opposite side of the road from the river can't ever make it more than 2 or 3 months. On a Saturday night you can pass by and see maybe 2 customers at any of the businesses that have been there. The opposite side of the road seems to do better for some reason but even then the turnover of restaurants and bars is very high.
