Wife just shared this breaking news with me.

The government have just issued a green light for the taxpayer to foot a 117 million baht bill to provide the military with a mobile and wi-fi internet signal jamming device to be used to block communication between protesters.

I wonder what sort of mayhem this is going to cause BKK based businesses who rely on mobile phones for their businesses?

What a waste of money, this won't stop the protests, it will just bring everyone else affected out onto the street, because they will have nothing else to do if you take away their internet and phone.

117 million down the crapper just to make PTP even more unpopular that they are now.

So what if someone has an accident or needs medical help? Or how do police communicate?

Notice, this is for the army.. So what happened to we won't use the army against the protesters?

Jamming devices can be set to various frequencies, which makes them a military tool.

Can also be used on the battlefield.

Might also be used to suppress the media via mobile. When stuff gets nasty its easy to grab your phone and DL it quick on a cam live. But if they take that then devious things can happen with out a first hand eye the world can see.
