May 3, 200619 yr We are in the process of trying to start club for divers that are based in the Phuket area. Fed up with going on the "cattle" boats to the popular dive sites, want to spend more than 60 mins with your camera on your favourite coral head? Maybe this will suit you then. The idea is that the "club" would charter a boat for the day, head off to the site that we had agreed on and then we all hit the wtare for some fun. So if you want to do a 2 1/2 dive on the plateau great, do a full tec trip to the vestal at 70m, no problem. There must be plenty of people on the island who are divers either in the dive industry or not who are looking for something a bit more than the bus trips to the local sites. With 10 people on a cahrter boat the costs would be bewteen 1000 and 1500 baht for a full days diving depending on the disatnce to the site and associted fuel costs. Cheap diving by any standards. The more people in the "club" the better as it will allow greater choice fro trips with more of them being organised.
