Thai Wedding Speech... Please help ka!

Sawadee Ka,

I am desperately seeking some Thai language help for my wedding speech and would be very grateful for your expertise.

Background:- I was born and raised in Thailand till I was 8 years old then moved to an English speaking country. My Thai language skills are pretty much of an 8 year old. I can speak and understand well but cannot read Thai and certainly cannot deliver a formal speech.

I will be getting married next year in Thailand and my family will be there, most can't speak English. I would like to surprise them with a small section of my Bride's speech in Thai.

Please help:- I would love the below speech translated in English, Thai pronouciation and Thai script. For Example...

And thankyou to my friends and family for coming a very long way to be with us.
Lae khor khob khoon peuan peuan lae krob krau khong phom thee ma raum nai ngan mong khon som rot
และ ขอขอบคุณ เพื่อน เพื่อน และ ครอบครัว ของ ผม ที่ มาร่วม ใน งานมงคลสมรส

My speech:- Your translation doesn't have to be exact at all and you can add to it. I just want it to be formal and sweet.

To my family and friends who live in Thailand (insert family and friends names), thank you for coming down to Koh Samui to witness and celebrate this special occasion with me.

All of you have shown me an incredible amount of kindness and love.

I hope that you have enjoyed today and the fun day trip (pbai teaw) we shared together.

I wish you all happiness and health.

(Insert Aunty's name) you looked after me like I was your own daughter for those 2 years while my mother build a life in Australia. I will never forget your strength and patience. I am so happy (insert Uncle's name) is there to keep you out of trouble now and I wish you both happiness forever.

Thank you in advance everyone for your help ka x

Yes Thai language help. Thank you.

Although I don't have much experience on translating a wedding speech and I don't go to weddings that often, I try my best to help you translate your speech.

(p.s. i may separate some phrases to make them easier for you to read.)

And thankyou to my friends and family for coming a very long way to be with us.

ดิฉัน ขอขอบพระคุณ ครอบครัวและมิตรสหายทุกท่าน ที่ให้เกียรติ เดินทางมาร่วมงานมงคลสมรสของเรา

**(I use หนู nuu (convey a sense that can warm a family’s heart) instead of using ดิฉัน dichan (sound a bit too formal in these lines) because I assume that this is the direct message to your Aunty and Uncle.)

Congratulations on your marriage! :)

Oh my goodness thank you so much!

Very good idea with "nuu" I have never heard of dichan because I have never made a formal speech. Thank you for teaching me.

Khun Lara I am finding it vary hard to head the pronunciations. I'm so sorry I know you have help so much already... is there any chance you can put the spaces in there for me syllable?

Your welcome, ^^ I also attached the voice recording I made for you in case you are not certain about how to pronounce some words.

And hope this version is much easier to read! haha Posted Image

Ironic to have a Thai person asking for Thai language help on an English forum. I love it!

Hi Khun Lara,

You are an angle truly! The amount of kindness and grace you have shown me... I am very grateful.

I just burst out crying hearing the audiosmile.png I know my family especially my aunty, will be so proud to hear me speak at that level. I will work very hard on my pronunciation till next year. Your pronunciation is newsreader perfect! Jealous wink.png

I don't know how I can repay your kindness without coming across like a stalker lol but I will "thum boun" for you this weekend, we have a Thai temple here in Brisbane, Australia.

Thank you again na ka!
