Can gays save Detroit?

Featured Replies

I think gays can save the horribly BLIGHTED formerly great city of DETROIT, but why would they WANT to? (Cheap real estate.)

I personally witnessed the mass gay gentrification of large sections of run down sections of San Francisco. It was largely seen as an economic THREAT from the existing population, and in some ways it was.

However, San Francisco was a very desirable place to be ALREADY (climate, culture, food, etc.) Now it is largely a city ONLY for the rich gay or not (the rents are truly through the roof).

I can see SOME gays helping to save Detroit and I think SOME will be attracted to the total basket case of a city that exists now, and I also think they will be quite welcome to do so (because now it is very much NOT a desirable place to live and so many have left large empty spaces there).

It will be interesting to watch. Yes, it's a cold climate so not for me, but look at Minneapolis!
