ONLY one choice!! Dr Anne Bangkok Pattaya Hospital if you proper want assessment doing

trained a Stanford Medical centre CA

http://www.bangkokpattayahospital.com/en/doctor-profile?v_id=7&depid=2

+1. Keep in mind though that if she does any procedure there at the hsp it will cost a fortune unless you have insurance to cover it.

Siriraj Hospital Dermatology department. World class, English speaking specialists . CancerTreatment very reasonable about 10% cost of private hospitals here. Just turn up there and ask for treatment. You will have a long wait, but it is worth it.

Right, but I once consulted her about a cyst on my back. She did a great overall exam. Then she and the hsp wanted B6000 to remove the cyst. Went to the public hsp in Siricha and had it done for B300. Clinic would have done it then for B600--now it's B800.

Siriraj is a great public hsp--in Bangkok.

I agree that Dr. Anna at Bangkok Hospital in Pattaya is top class, but so are her prices. Fine if you've got insurance, but not so good for those who don't.

I've noticed an advert on the local TV channel for an outfit simply called 'Skin Doctors'. I didn't take down their contact details. Has anybody tried them, or does anyone even know where they are based?

When I Google 'skin doctors Patttaya' I get this Facebook page:

Does anybody know anything about this place?

Just one of those Thai style beauty clinics.

Oh. Is there a decent skin clinic in town, or are the big hospitals the only option for things like getting pre-cancers frozen off with liquid nitrogen??

Going back to Australia for the treatment might be the cheaper option! I have had many removed surgically before. Having them done here might not be the best option financially. Thanks for you replies.

True, and due to the cost of removal and the profit these medical centers can make, they may become overzealous with the knife.

If it was me I'd do it in Oz.

I second tropo re having it done back in OZ. Cheaper and peace of mind, and not a bad break from Thailand at the moment with all the Political upheaval. thumbsup.gif

I don't. A skin checkup by Dr. Anna (~B1000) could not possibly be cheaper than the return airfare to OZ for a checkup there. The re-entry permit alone is B1500.

If I needed a procedure done, and I just had to have it done in OZ, I'd try to postpone it until Songkran. :) That's the best time for a break.

My recommendation was based on an assumption that the person will be making a trip to Oz at some time and the checkup could be done on that visit. No, I would not recommend the trip exclusively for a checkup. If surgery is required, then a cost comparison could be made.

BTW, a single re-entry permit is 1000 baht.

Have to concur..go to a Government Hospital, long waits but excellent and very economical rates, also no unnecessary treatments.

I get my skin cancer preliminary diagnoses at Bumrungrad, e.g. melanoma or less and biopsies/treatment at government hospitals.

IF, the OP has a history of carcinoma or has concerns, I would not delay an examination but visit Dr. Anna. Avoid the skin clinics, you may need a biopsy and pathologist report. I have a friend who must be examined every 3 months for any suspicious growths or lesions.

I was under the impression that the OP had a problem from his first post, "Looks like I have to have my skin checked for skin cancer" and the OP's second post, "I have had many removed surgically before." These two parts of his statements made me state as above.

That's the way to do it. And not just w/ skin issues.

Yes, I see the second post now. OP has a history of skin problems. I would be in Dr. Anna's office tomorrow.

YES. Can't mess around w/ possible cancer. Friend of mine had melanoma and was gone within a few months.

WOW !! my melanoma was only noticed in passing when accompanying a child for treatment..I was furious that the child's family had ignored his skin condition, but..well what can I say ?
