Please could you advice on the following...

I am planning a trip to Chiang Mai for which the total duration will be as close to 6 Months, (180 days), as possible.

I aim to achieve this by applying for a mulitple entry, (2 or 3), tourist Visa as per the download from the London Embassy site

http://thaiembassyuk.org.uk/pdffile/visa_standard.pdf

The box, (top right), "Tourist Visa upto 3 Entries" I intend to fill in with, "3" to allow more versatility, but I do not know what to enter in the box

further down the form, (on the rhs), which asks, "Duration of Proposed Stay"???

My intention is once there, (and near the the end of the initial 60day limit), apply for a 30day extention. Then, (by using the 2nd entry), get a further 60days

and then another 30day extension. This process should give me close to my 6 Month target.

However, as above I am confused as to what to enter in the "Proposed Duration", box...?

Should I enter just the initially allowed 30days, 90 days or the full allowance using all the options available of 180days?

I just want to be honest but I am also mindful that if the official who sees 180days intended stay entered on a form intended for an official

60day stay, may refuse the Visa...

All advice gratefully received... :-)

Duration of Proposed Stay: max. 60 days/entry

Accompany your visa application with a covering letter addressed to he consul, asking for the visa to be valid for 6 months from its issue date because you plan to travel in Southeast Asia for about six months and give the estimated approximate dates of the three entries into Thailand. Nobody will later question you when the actual entry dates and periods of stay per entry differ from your plan.

Also, I would apply through one of the consulates rather than the Embassy.

Hi Bpuumike...

That's interesting, why do you say that?

I was going to the Embassy because I work in London and a long way from Hull... I also thought that going in person may be beneficial?

What do you believe would be better by going via the Hull Consulate?

Thanks

kind regards

Mostly because they accept mail in applications and are normally are easier to deal with than the embassy. Hull is not the only honorary consulate.

Since you are in London the embassy may be the best choice.
