Featured Replies

How's this for a very devious phising attempt. Man, it looks sooooo real!

Not really. The grammar is pretty poor.

Ha! Yes, just noticed that.

Easily spotted. *** BTW what link does it show when you hover over "Verify"?

*** Added: For someone for whom English is their first language and assuming a reasonable level of education.

I can see that catching more than a few in foreign climes.

Also would like to know where the "verify" link links to

I just hid my email address. Forum rules ya know! 5555

The reply email address was:

[email protected]

I missed all the spelling mistakes (English is my first language. 5555). But figured it out via the reply email address.

It was early in the morning. I'm scanning a bunch of emails (I get some 100+ every day). This one caught my attention.

After getting hit some 10 years ago by one supposedly from CNN (I'm a subscriber), I've become quite careful. That one took me 2 days to recover.

I'm assuming the "Verify" link opens a fake copy of the Yahoo Sign-in page, but from a site like sneakyrussianbastards.ru

I know so many people/yahoo accounts that have been hacked,

i know because i am in their contacts and have been spammed and phised etc.

And not just recently.

This stuff is easy to spot if you are savvy, goodness help those that aren't.

They get trickier all the time.

One thing, should be a crime, when a sender uses your logon id as the email/spam sender originator.

Sure does make me look.

Occasionally I will get a completely blank email

no sender no subject no body

must be a spam bot with bugs

Most of the times they are live email addresses sending you an email to check if your email is "alive" and then (if they don't get a bounce) they would start sending you spam mails.
