Work Permit for Wifes Business

Recommended Posts

If the farang is her husband then two Thai staff are required.

If the farang is not her husband then four Thai staff are required.

...again with the various capital and turnover requirements and tax paid on a salary dependant of the farang's country of origin.

When a farang becomes involved in a business the need for relevant licences and permissions becomes more important etc.

For the work permit there is no minimum salary requirement. It is only needed for extensions.

This is a cash business. Just work with your wife, she can pay you off the books in cash. Any questions = you're just helping your wife out.

It's not for him, please keep up smile.png

Helping out the wife = working...

Besides that, just helping the wife out still requires a work permit.

The OP did not mention the exact status of his wife's business, but I believe that if she is registered as self employed/a sole trader, then it would not be possible for her to have employees per se, but just workers who were are also self employed themselves.

If the business is however a Thai Limited Partnership, then it should be posible, if necessary, to add registered capital to cover a Work Permit for a third party foreigner, but it would also require a minimum of 4 Thai employees on the books.
