Abhisit calls on government to accept responsibility

As much as i depise Yingluck and the clan ,shouldnt Mark respect the the voting public they didnt vote for him or his party ?

Actually they did. He is an elected MP. In addition, the PT did not get the majority vote. They did get the most electoral votes though.

Out of all those protesters how many are actually registered in Bangkok to vote i wonder .

Why do they need to be registered in Bangkok to vote? should people only be allowed to protest in their own electorate?

"He said the high number of people gathering at Rajdamnoen is a significant expression of Thai society who want to see a change.

"It's a pity that we do not see how the PM and the government will respond to the call. They just repeatedly say 'please sit and talk'," Abhisit said."

How about when 100K reds were camped at Phan Fa? What was that an expression of? & what did you do? shut down their media & send the troops in!

The main difference being the REtarD rioters in 2010 were being horribly violent and doing all kinds of bad things. Also, they were trying to out the Democrats who were actually trying to run the country unlike the current regime who are trying to help big brother maniac rather than do anything actually useful, they have had 2.5 years and repeatedly disappointed, they are terrible and ruining the country's economy ! Apples and oranges, you can't compare. Try seeing through the Red Shirt brainwashing to what is really going on....

The main difference between the reds and the new yellow mob of 2013 is the credibility of an election victory and the absence of a deal struck in the military barracks. One calling for democratic elections while the other hand flowers to the military and chant for a coup. Violence erupted in 2010 AFTER AV sent the troops in, 10/4/10. This lot would turn violent if the government were stupid enough to repeat AV's heavy handed tactics.

What do you teach, History Revision? Thaksin's agitators were preaching violence before the reds got to Bangkok, and they brought their weapons with them.

Correct me if im wrong ,voters can only vote where they are registered in their house book (tabien baan) ? You missed my point it seems .

'Mark' has got a dam_n cheek. Yingluck isnt responsible for these anti democratic demonstrations - his own deputy, that thug Suthep Thaugsuban is responsible.

Very sorry but, if the PTP hadn't tried to subvert almost everything legal in this country to suit their own ends, and only their ends, this situation would not be happening.

She's supposed to be in charge of the PTP, so it is her ultimate responsibility, unless she wants to kick it upstairs to her brother.

In Western democracies elected governments (normally) sit for a prescribed term . If people don't like their government's style they get tossed out at the next election. This is what happened recently in Australia. The voters waited patiently for the next election and tossed out the labor Party. Why shouldn't that happen here?

That is everything legal according to the deeply undemocratic 2007 constitution which gave undemocratic powers to unelected bodies such as the constitutional court that by their very nature are staffed by the ruling elite. and established a senate that the political parties are precluded from standing in, and which has a significant percentage of its members appointed by the ruling elite. That's the REAL issue here: who runs Thailand? The elected government or the myriad QANGO's established under constitution railroaded through by the military backed, unelected Sulayut government

At last a commentator that is able to be rational about the disastrous rewrite of the constitution that spawned political road blocks to lawmakers in Government.

The schedules and milestones of procedure and precedence between the Monarchy, the Constitution, the Senate and the parliament are out of sync which will ensure continual obstructions to Lawmakers, in the future, whichever party is in office.

In essence the elite and their institutions, with the help of the Army, created the 2007 constitution.

The 2007 constitution gives the Thai Elite the ability to block legislation on account their whimsical expectations, at any time, thus putting their elitist families above Thai Law.

I'm sure you must have worked as a speaking clock for most of your life.

You go on and on, year after year, with the same old same old.

We are talking about there here and now on the YS administration that has been massively dishonest to the people.

Do you seriously think there would be these protests if the PTP had just governed the country pampering to the few and lying to the many?

Back to the books, dear teacher, recheck the timeline.

Violence (in 2010) seems to have erupted around a court's verdict of confiscating 47 billion of Thaksin's illgotten gains. that was end of February 2010.

As for the rest, let's not drift off topic too much. The 'Abhisit calls on government to accept responsibility' is fun enough already.

...And why did they have to send in the troops? It was out of control.....PM heavy handed? Get a clue, he didn't hand down those orders. Time to do your research, or you'll be 'dirt poor teacher' dreaming up such shallow nonsense. I can tell you weren't here when it occurred. Try day to day life living inside the red bamboo stake camp, and you might have a different perspective. You think Abhisit sat down and signed a document that said 'please shoot the rented mobs?" C'mon.

Absolute nonsense, violence was being committed by various red shirt groups right from the beginning of the protests against Apisit.

I enjoyed Suthep's comments this morning when the reporter asked him if the anti government protesters might turn violent in their seizure of government offices. We are not Natawut or Jatuporn was his reply.

Nice to see you think AV should have left the red shirts to burn Bangkok! heavy handed indeed, what a joke. If the crab sent the troops in, then she would be as guilty as AV when the first person dies!

would that also be heavy handed?

But they didnt fire their ancient blunderbusses. The army assassinated Seh Daeng with a high calibre rifle and then apparently acting on orders from a democratic authority - assumed to be the same Suthep Thaugsuban who is now stirring up trouble again, murdered at least 100 Thai civilians.

Absolutely. The 1999 constitution had been agreed on by all parties after sober (well, you know what I mean) reflection. The 2007 constitution was rushed through and effectively had one myopic aim: Stop Thaksin. It failed even in this regard.

The only place i take issue with your otherwise admirable discourse Indyuk is the idea that the 2007 constitution put the elitist families above the law: they have been above the law almost since they arrived from China.

Sae Deang was killed on Thaksins orders as he had become a liability by exposing Thaksin as the one behind the riots.

Sae Deang was doing a great job for the army and the Govt at the time he was killed as he was destabilizing the red leadership by saying Thaksin had sacked them all and put him (Sae Daeng in charge of the riots.

He was the only one who could identify the men in black so he had to go.

I see 91 has now risen to at least 100 civilians.

Completely discounting the 30% plus of the deaths that were caused directly by red grenades and bullets.
