BANGKOK: -- A molotov cocktail bomb was thrown into the house of the leader of the People’s Army to Overthrow Thaksin Regime on Soi Nawamin 97 in Lard Prao area last night, causing damages to his brother’s car.

According to occupants in the house, and neighbors, the culprits came in a motorcycle and the pillion rider then hurled a petrol bomb into the house and then sped.

The car which belonged to Somporn Lertbutr, a brother of Lt Samdin Lertbutr, the leader of the People’s Army to Overthrow Thaksin, caught fire but was distinguished shortly before spreading to the house.

Being alerted by his brother and parents of the arson attack, Lt Samdin said firmly the attack was politically motivated.

Lard Prao police and forensic officials inspected the house this morning but have not yet established the motive and who was behind. But they are seeking cooperation from nearby residents to provide information, and also checking video footages from adjacent CCTV cameras if they could fetch images of the attackers.

Funny how the colour red , as in shirts, and fire seem to go together. Do they run classes on arson ?

Mind you I knew a pub in Glasgow where allegedly somebody threw a petrol bomb into it but one of the locals drank it before it exploded.

The Sarry Heid for those who might know.

What did they give it a knighthood or something?

Could have just been wearing a tie.

'Lard Prao police and forensic officials inspected the house this morning but have not yet established the motive and who was behind' the attack.

Right maybe we can help the cops?

The target was an Anti Thaksin movement leader. So the chances are good that the attackers were Pro Thaksin?

The motive surely was to shut him up or worse burn him and his family?

This is the house of the leader who's group cut the power at the police HQ yesterday, right?

I just watched the morning news. Both groups are not any better than the other. Thai people are so confrontational and like to use violence.

I don't recall, perhaps you might refresh my memory, when did the PAD or yellow-shirts last petrol-bomb the home of a Red-Shirt leader, or even merely pour blood all over the gate & walls ?

Never mind, PM-Yingluck will shorty join in the general condemnation of this terrorist act, by some over-excited political-activist ... won't she ? wink.png

Big decision now for Tarit, should the throwing of petrol bombs bring a greater or lesser charge than blowing whistles? He needs to maintain consistency in all these matters as you can't have one side disadvantaged compared to the other.

The petrol bomb thrower could also be a fake red or yellow shirt too.

If a cow is born in a horse- stable, would you train it to win the Kentucky Derby?

a few days ago Sondhi urged the yellow shirts to protect Suthep, the PAD is alive and kicking.

I am quite surprised that there hasn't been a few M-79 grenades dropping on the anti-Thaksin protesters. Their absence is unprecedented.

A couple were used on the house of one of the rubber farmer protest leaders in the South.

So they are still out there

@tingtongteesood.

You mean the good ones are the ones who don t respect election and want to get rid of democracy to put an appointed cabinet?

If they are so confident that what is good is to beat a journalist to the pulpl as well as threaten an elected government of civil war... do some reaserch and you will see that these democrat leaders just have another hidden agenda : provoke unrest for their own benefits
