transferring money to Canadian account

Featured Replies

can it be done through Bangkok Bank via wire transfer to my Canadian account? Or better to use a service like Lloyd's TSB?

Use XE.com. By far the best rates and best service and they are especially good if you are transferring to a Canadian bank account.

I'm aware of xe.com

I didn't ask about exchange rates

Apparently "aware" and "knowledgeable" are two completely different things in your world.....

XE.com also has a transfer service.

And the reason why I recommended XE for transferring funds to Canada is: If you select payment by ETF (to your Canadian bank) there is no wire fee. So the transaction will not only get you a much better rate but there are no fees. The same applies transferring funds to Australia but not to Thailand where there is a wire fee of Aprox. ₤ 14.

It is well worth the effort to set it up and that's free too. I just transferred funds from the U.K. to Australia and it took 24 hours.
