If your gf is a bargirl they will be hard on her. I tried last year to get a girl who I had known for a year into au. I have good job could have paid the bond if requested. The young educated thai interviewer was about as sensitive as an interogating police officer. The embassy wanted at least 6 mths phone and email records the usual stat dec and of course their fee. In the end they refused but wld not say why. Aust is really tough due to a sex slavery case in melbourne and the recent gruesome murder of two thai working gals in Darwn. As I said in a previous post I would love to see the stats for each nationalitys overstaying visas in au. I reckon it aint thais that are the problem Its ignorant prejudice from the uptight cardy and sandal and sock wearing wowser brigade. On the other side if you are succesful remember its only a dream for these girls that their life will be better outside of thailand. The reality is they miss the food,the ability to go out all hours and eat,their friends and their families. You need a strong smart girl to be able to deal with this. My current GF is thai and has been here 7 years,she goes to thainatown every second day,spends heaps on thai videos and socialises almost exclusivley with thai friends if you are succesful and she needs a friend let me know. I am told Thai's are Number 10 in the Aussie overstay list. snoop , how very true about the staff and where do you live in Oz? Well doc it doesn't matter where you rate on the list, it is an A4 sheet of paper filled with names of countries and if your country is on it, guess what? There have been a couple of senior people disclosed that the gov has ordered DIO to tailor their reports. It's an issue that wont go away and the little fella is hurting a bit. His GST is the biggest rip-off, and what happened to all the taxes that were going to go when GST came in??? We still have them, some now disguised as levies instead. After reading the thread from end to end, I got a few good laughs , but also have some fears about getting my wife here, even though we have been married here in Oz for just over 2 years. She has been here on 3 occassions, never had any problems getting her travel visa, but they did ask her who she was seeing, why, what connection (she said a friend) what about her job (Thai gov official), but in general she was able to get the visa without any problems (showing her mothers big bank account that she controls for her helped I am sure) Anyway, my problems may be about to start, but after reading all I can on the various forums on this site, have started to get it all together. Question I have about showing proof of relationship, I have put together a few VCDs showing out Oz wedding and another showing out Thai wedding, also one showing a slideshow of photos taken while on visits both here and there. Is it too hard for them to view a VCD, have I wasted my time to do it? Getting several letters from various people here that attended our Oz wedding, one is the local mayor, others are business people. Found I need to get our wedding certificate extracted, the real one isn't good enough it seems. I will keep following all these threads and gather as much info as I can before embarking on the final application that we will make about the end of October.
