3rd time double entry visa in Laos or other solution?

Featured Replies

I am searching via the forum for the best solution and find mixed answers over the years on what to do.

in January next year I need to obtain a new tourist visa, and preferable this would be a double entry as it then will last me till my flight back home in May.

this would mean however that I would need a 3rd double entry tourist visa in Laos

by reading posts of the years it looks like some get it with no problem, whilst others are refused.

if I bring my flight booking, would that help? as they have never asked for this document.

the other option then would be going twice to penang? for a single entry visa

but there it is more strickter than in loas

help is appreciated ;)

I would give it a try with the ticket out. At worst they will give you at least a single entry and tel you not to apply there again.

Being able to show some money coming into the country would better than a ticket. Copies of a Thai bank book that shows transfers in attached to application would be best.

This to overcome the perception that you might be working here.

wouldn't it then be better to show funds on my foreign account?

It would be okay but you would need to show that you are getting money from it to live on here.

That is why I said transfers coming into the country to the bank account.

I see, cheers for that!

Maybe your age... No idea, had a problem 2008 and then 2010 Perth closed so No more 1 year Visa any more, [good for 15 months]

I should have received money in 2011, but it did not arrive so went to Savanakhet Laos, earlier this year got my 5th double, did ask at the Consulet and was told no limit.. so was hoping would be OK for next 2 years till my pension... thankfully money arrived 2 years late, so have gone back on yearly Extensions in October. [90 day conversion + 1 year extension from Immigration]

Just a Note:

If you can only get a Single Entry then with a 30 day extension will take you to April.. and if you are from a Country that allows 30 day entry at border = gets you to May.

Yes and ATM receipts also showing bank balance. I have heard others been asked in Vientiane. Savannaket may be a better go if you are thinking Laos. The last time Vientiane gave me a tourist visa, while I was waiting paperwork for Non B, it was my second or 3rd for the year, they told me no more, although did not stamp that in the passport.
