Nikon's new D8000....coming to a camera store near you soon!

attachicon.gifPhotoFunnies049.jpeg

I really like this. Can you tell me does it support wifi?

Sure does but the adaptor is off camera & connected by 100

pin Cannon plug to a weather resistant box on wheels you must

pull along with you. Mind you the signal does have a 10000 Km

range.

About your getting your mitts on your wife's new D4s....she gotta sleep sometime eh!

Ohh she puts all the good things under key, I will be allowed though to carry the bag, that the cameras in. lol.

I don't really care about it that much, but will be interested to see how it performs in low light, as birds and other wild life is more active in the evening.

Interesting times are to follow in the coming years, especially when they get mirror less functioning well enough to finally make DSLR redundant. A lighter, faster camera with all the good features do high end DSLR is going to be great, even for retards like me.

I'm not so sure about what's going to happen with lenses at that time but somehow I feel like we're in for more financial pain, bad for us and good for the co-orps.

I've convinced the wife to wait a few weeks, months before buying the camera, I lack confidence, especially since D4, D800 and D600 and their various issues. Hopefully Nikon has done its homework this time because I don't think they can afford further balseups, especially with their flagship.

^^^ ND...too right on your above post. I just read somewhere on the internet, Nikon Rumors page I think,

that Nik has finally agreed to replace ALL the shutters in their ill fated D600 that have been sold. The

page listed that it was only for the US & Europe sales and they did give a link for all other sales worldwide.

However....why did Nik put the camera (and others) on the market when they had to know there was a

major fault in it/them? Money that's why. Why did Nik introduce the D610? As a fix to the ill fated D600?

No...once again it was...money...that's why. If I was a D600 user & me camera had the issue & because

I don't live in the US or the Euro Zone & Nik told me...So Solly...I'd sue em for all their worth & own the

damn company. That said...I have been a pretty happy Nikon user for over 40 years and we have this

love-hate relationship that dates from 1988 & the F4 debacle & this is why I'll never buy a brand new,

fresh on the market camera from them ever again. Plus...if I was a young photog these days, as I once

was back when Noah built the Ark....I'd be buying a new Canon EOS1Dx and a new EOS5DMk whatever

and their L series lenses straight away. After all the very vocal & visual complaints regarding Nikon I

wouldn't give Nikon the sweat off me bum in an emergency...and that's a crying shame.

Find out where she stashes the key.....

thanks SUNY, I've read some of this info before.

The wife will wait for a few of her friends to get the d4s to see what they say.

I don't want to feed such a large camera up the nikon reps posterior if it ain't right. lol

That's a great decision ND; patience is a money saver these

days, not to mention a headache reliever and still a bit of a virtue.

Mind you if you eventually must shove the camera up a rep's

posterior may I suggest a liberal heaping glop of lard mixed

with oil of bird chili (50-50 mix & home made is best!) lavishly

smeared all over the camera; please wear industrial strength

thick rubber gloves while doing this & the shoving, so as their

screams will be heard by the accountants in their airconned

& sound proof offices.

LOL @ Sunshine. But seriously, if you see what people went through with their D600's, D800s and a few D4 cameras, you'd be so cranky and there's no way I'd accept oil blotches and left focus issues on such expensive cameras. Not acceptable. it wasn't just one or ten cameras either.

and then the way niks handled it, seriously, not good enough.

anyway fortunately we have a couple of friends who can't wait to splurge their money on a new product and we can sit back and wait the news lol

Those damn accountants! They designed the cameras wrong, they assembled wrong and they sold them without adequate QC. I can not believe the nerve of those damn accountants! ! ! !

Neverdie....many of my associates bought the D7000 (issues too), the D600 & the D800 when issues

were a major problem...also known as buy the moment they hit the stores. I did my best to warn em

but my warnings fell on deaf ears in their rush to have the latest Big Thing. Then I had to listen to

their constant bitching until they....1: went to Canon....2: had their Niks fixed properly. The few

who went over to Canon received great tradeins for their Nik glass but poop for their bodies. The

ones who stayed with Nik were running outta patience with NikService but in the end (not the

posterior bit, the real end of hostilities) had their kit(s) repaired properly and carried on with their

lives & work. I realise in this day and age that many photogs, both pro & enthuiast don't have a

clue about the older Nikons starting with the F3 and backwards, back then Nikon made the best

SLR's on the planet IMO. That is if one didn't or couldn't easily get their hands on Contax or

Leica (read financial inability). Canon came on the scene with their F1 and yes...it was very good,

almost as good as Nikons were! Then there was the F4 debacle. When the F5 was put on the market

it was getting rave reviews but I waited...and waited...and Nik gave me one to use just to prove that

the F5 was a great camera without hiccups in the internals. OK...it was...end of statement. Then I

bought 2 of em. Again...ever since the F4 I have waited, usually making the decision to buy after

a year has passed. In your wife's biz, I'm sure you have noticed, as well as in my biz, which is

most likely the same as your wife's...the client doesn't give a hoot what camera was used in

making those great exposures...they want those great exposures and nothing less will do. Yeah,

it's nice to drive a new car every year but cameras just don't get repaired as easily as cars do

if the maker screws it up. And yes there will always be the odd "lemon"...which will haunt both

user & maker until the maker finally replaces it FOC...or be sued...or whatever transpires.

Anyway...so as not to get myself and other readers worked up about this Nikon mess...it

kinda boils down to somebody no longer taking responsibility for their product while advertising

said product as the best thing since sex was discovered. I mean...there's no such thing as

bad sex...really! There are just times when it's better than at other times. Cameras aren't like

sex though....they're either good or a piece of shit.

Remember to locate the keys to her camera stash but don't let her know you know!
