Shinawatra clan is still the protest target

If the Shinawatra clan continues to play a major role in Thailand all the protest will be for not and shortly after the Feb. 2nd elections the protest will start anew. It would be nice to see the Shinawatra's and their crew move to a foreign land but we all know they are out for money power and more money.

Yes there are other factions within the ruling party and the opposition that Thailand can do without.

I have no way of proving it so don't bother asking me for sources.

But I do believe that with all the Shinawatre's out of the picture for good there wiould be a lot of PTP members working hard for the people of Thailand rather than the man in Dubai. Of course there would be a lot of dead wood that would need removing. As far as I am concerned any Shinawatra in the next generation would still be one to many. The name would attract votes no matter what their policies were.

Steve,

ah a hot blooded socialist eh?

Well apologies for accusing you of being a "born to rule" Tory.

However, that's not what we're talking about are we? I mean you had to suffer under Thatcher many years, but you and your fellow travellers didn't go out and invade government offices demanding she resign did you? You would have been locked up quick smart eh?

So why is it ok to do that here Steve?

That's what we are talking about, repect for the democratic system, and the majority of Thai people voted for Yingluck, mistaken as they might be, that was the result.

The alternative, which you are advocating is ANARCHY.

You just don't make sense, your argument has been revealed for what it is.

Maybe you were asleep (or too young) through the experience of the Poll Tax riots which effectively brought down Thatcher.

History seemingly not your strongest card.

If you don't mind he is also comparing apples to oranges. Also he is not aware of the total % that voted for Yingluck. It was a minority. But being as Thailand does not have a Democratic system it was enough to get them in to the power seat.

Absolute balderdash, if you believe that you'll believe anything!

What I don't get is all you whining Brits pining away for the Dems to get back into power, and yet it is Thaksin who made it easier for farangs to invest and live here.

The old elite don't like or want farangs here.

The election result will only make a difference to the Thais and all you whinging brits won't even notice the difference!

Still the old habits don't change easily do they, you just love having the old families and power structure in place.

Just like back home.

Is it somehow more reassuring?

Knowing there's the old order still in command. Treating the peasants like <deleted>, all the pomp and ceremony, all the icecream suits and gold braid.

Don't want any upstarts crashing the party do we?

Just like a mob of old Alf Garnets, don't want any upstarts to

If I recall correctly, a recent person to be wearing one of the icecream suits in a very fetching manner was the clone Prime Minister herself.
