Allergy specialist in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend an allergy specialist in Chiang Mai?

I'm aware that Chiang Mai Ram has an allergy department. Does anyone know if Sriphat has a similar department?

There is an allergy specialist in Meechok Plaza, almost opposite MacDonalds. Opens 8 AM to about 1 PM (I think)

^^ as above, 50m on right.

Do you drink lots of water with sea salt (on tongue) and get sun time?

Thanks for the information about the allergy clinic at Meechok Plaza. I'll check it out.

Jackr are you suggesting drinking water with sea salt added? I've started gargling with a pinch of salt in water, but it's too early to say if it's had any effect on my allergy symptoms. Are you also suggesting that lack of vitamin D due to low sunlight exposure may have an effect?

Has anyone tried lingzhi (also known as reishi and ganoderma lucidum)? A research project was launched at CM University this year to determine whether this Chinese mushroom could combat allergies as effectively as antihistamines.

I've had allergic rhinitis for years, but my symptoms have got worse living in Chiang Mai over the last five years. Maybe it's about getting older too!

On the right hand side as you drive into Maechok Plaza, do not know if they may be able to help but worth a try.

If you are into Chinese medicine, maybe take a trip to Mungkala at 21 ratchamanka. Has good reputation with people coming there from afar. Check website first

Thanks for your recommendation beau thai. In fact, as I'm looking for an alternative to antihistamines, the first place I went to was the Mungkala clinic. Before giving me any treatment, the doctor there suggested seeing an allergy specialist first to try and determine what I'm allergic too.

I would be interested to hear of anyone's experience using Chinese medicine to treat allergies.
