BANGKOK: -- A red-shirt leader has been indicted for robbery and causing damage during the 2010 red-shirt rally.

Yossawaris Chuklom, widely known as Jeng Dokjik, yesterday acknowledged his charge but denied any wrongdoing at the Criminal Court. The first hearing for this case has been scheduled for March 17.

Public prosecutors said Yossawaris led some 500 red shirts to surround and damage 21 military vehicles in Bangkok on April 10, 2010. Related properties were also vandalised.

The damages have been estimated at Bt5.55 million.

Just had a look at the "New Content" page, so far today there have already been 42 new members join TV.

Funny how a lot of the pro-Thaksin comments on the forum are from newbies and all their posts seem to be copied and pasted dribble.

Just another example of how low Thaksin and his PR team are, employing trolls no less.

Appeals Court upholds 2-year prison term for Red Shirt Activist Jeng Dokjik

The Appeals Court on Thursday upheld the lower court's decision in January last year to sentence Yosawarit Chooklom, alias Jeng Dokjik, to serve two years in jail for lese majeste charge.

Jeng Dokjik, a hard-core redshirt leader of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) appeared at the court today to hear the verdict of the Appeals Court in the case which he was sentenced by the Criminal Court (the court of first instance) to serve two years in jail for less majeste charge indicted on him in September in 2010. He appealed the lower court’s ruling.

At today’s hearing, the Appeals Court said the prison term handed down by the first court was appropriate for the crime he committed.

It then upheld the two-year jail term with no suspension of imprisonment.

Jeng’s lawyer is under the process to place 500,000 baht cash bail with the court and will also appeal the sentence to the Supreme Court.

My glasses are not tinted and I see what will happen in the future if the anti government protesters fail to get reform for Thailand. It is not good. Take off your red tinted glasses and have a look for yourself the current government drained the treasury to the point where it could not pay it's rice farmers for the rice it purchased from them Causing them in affect to help pay the government's wages while they had to borrow money and pay interest on it. How much did the Government spend trying to start a dam even awarding a contract to a very Dubious Korean contractor with out doing the studies prescribed by law. A court had to order them to do them.

Thailand in the last three years in spite of a wage raise for some and a loss take home money for others due to a loss of overtime and benefits. Thailand has managed to hit a new high for family debt. Also it has managed to further congest the highways and add to the pollution.

How many of these government employee's are going with out pay checks? Can you safely get on a train now?

Stop it with this drained treasury nonsense.

Thailand is not bust. What they can't do, because they are now an interim government is commit to any further borrowing.

Say what u like, but the treasury is anything but empty. There are no govt employees going without a pay cheque, because funding for standard salaries is all covered and budgeted.
