Is Atorvastatin (Generic Lipitor) available in Thailand?... If so how much are you paying?

i was on lipitor[uk] but since being here i take bestatin,i buy 40gm and cut them in half.150bht.for 30 tabs.

Bestatin is not the same drug.

There two generic versions sold here and recent reports are one is no longer available. I received the other several weeks ago but was only available in 10mg size from my hospital.

Atorvastatin(generic Lipitor) is available here but absurdly expensive(at least at Fascino pharmacy in Pattaya where I price checked it.

It was about 10 times the cost of Bestatin(generic Zocar or Simvastatin)

I have taken both and blood test results for HDL, LDL and triglycerides remained the same.

My dosage(MD prescribed) is 40mg Simvastain(Bestatin) or 20 mg Atorvastatin.

I concur, the generic here is almost as expensive as the Lipitor brand in the US. I just have mine shipped over using Shipito and since my health plan gives me a 90 day supply for $15 so the processing fee and postage are worth it

Fascino was the cheapest I could find here but still outrageously expensive for a generic

Three weeks ago I paid hospital 35 baht each for 10mg Sandoz Atorvastatin.

Three months ago I paid same hospital 110 each for 40mg Lipitor.

So one half real Lipitor would be less cost than the two pills of 10mg required for new 20mg per day.

Lipitor brand or generic is not inexpensive.
