house maids is it worth it?

We have had a lady come every Wednesday for the last 18 months, she works from 8 till 5 and thoroughly cleans the whole house and around the house, she does a great job and charges just 350 baht.. we give her an additional 150 because she showers our 2 dogs.

I had a maid coming one day the last three weeks.

As the house isn't big and the surrounding also just small the time needed for cleaning is between 1.5 and 3 hrs. depending if e.g. the windows are cleaned etc. Usually it can be done in 2 hrs.

I initially offered 200 but agreed to 300.

After the three weeks she demanded 500 as "it is a lot of work".

So now I'm searching for someone else...

Bye,

Derk

To the OP question. First it depends on your lifestyle.

I think it is much better to keep maids/service not living in.

Not just because of privacy, a main issue for me, but also because

it is difficult to find someone to trust to live in your home.

I only had them twice, one with each ex-wife.

First one, 50ish Thai maid with European wife. In Bangkok,

spacious condo with separate quarters for maid. We were lucky

and she was honest and hard working.

The Thai lady read pretty well that I was not happy with her around, unless

specifically needed. Kept her distance. Kept her job until ex-wife left. I gave

her the best possible reference letter I could come up with, but I still did not

want to keep her at home.

The second one, a young cousin of second ex-wife (Asian, but not Thai).

She was part of the family, not intrusive, stayed her visa and was sent home

because she wasn't doing the job she was supposed to do.

Since then, one team of 2 - been the same for the past two years - cleans my

Bangkok condo and I get one of the cleaners from the condo in Pattaya to come

for a few hours whenever necessary. For me it works well.

The main thing is having someone to stay at home with you or not. Even when they are

more than acceptable I prefer not, but that is up to OP and family to decide.

there must be an agreement between you and your maid that is if she finishes her work in 2 hours, as you said, can she go home after finishing her work or you want her to do more work?

I keep asking my wife to find a young, sexy maid to keep the house clean.

Up to now she's brought 3 different old hugs.

Don't know what's the matter with her? Doesn't she want a clean house????

I'm currently looking for a couple of pretty painters & decorators, any suggestions ?

With knickers or without? Job is same, same price different!!!!

Burma maids are the ONLY way to go . I hired one part time , she then got two other part time jobs and makes a good income . She is in huge demand , honest always on time and works while here . She works part time for embassy people and when they leave they have many that want her. She will never be out of work , because she works .biggrin.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.png
