Advice On Buying Toyota Vios

Featured Replies

hey guys, i am new to the motoring forum, and was after some advice please

myself and the wife have just been to look at a 2005 Toyota vios soluna 1.5 e vvti

it is automatic transmission, has 130,000km on the clock, one lady owner

it looks in good condition, and is in the price range we were looking at. and about the right size. the lady wants 270,000B for it

can anyone give me some advice on whether or not this is a good buy?

are these models reliable when they start to get this amount of km's on the clock? is there anything we should have checked before thinking about putting in an offer?

thanks in advance guys :o)

Have a look at this link: http://www.taladrod.com/w20/Search/TbMktPrc_FS.aspx?mk=37&md=185

That's a price guide on a popular s/h car website in Thailand.

The mileage is a little high but if it has been regularly serviced with a history to prove it's mileage,

then it may be ok.

This link also shows what's on offer right now.

The overall condition will depend on if it has been properly maintained - check the service book. 130K isn't a lot of kms for a car this age - my 2004 honda has nearly 220K kms - still no problems with the engine and gearbox. Peripherals go eventually, like air cond compressors, shock absorbers, etc. Well looked after you could get another 100K kms no problems from it. The price seems about average for this age.

For less than another 100k you can buy a new eco car. This would be my suggestion.
